Our People

Austin - Co Founder

I’m a passionate automotive engineer, vehicle enthusiast, dumpster diver, and co-founder of this site. I’ve fixed everything from electronics to engines. I have always had a knack for diagnostics and repair and find it rewarding to help others learn about, and get, the most value out of their equipment.

I’m constantly learning new methods of repair and diagnostics too as I currently work at a large automotive OEM, focusing on wire harness and HEV systems. As you might imagine the electrons often don’t want to go where we want them to go, so much of my role is just complex diagnostics and countermeasures.

Although I tend to be involved with mechatronic systems more than anything else, I'm a mechanical engineer by education. I have a small youtube channel located [here] where I tinker with several vehicles and post a bigger project every few years.

Micah - Master Engineer + RYW Operations Support

Hello, I’m an Interdisciplinary engineer with a strong background in mechatronics and software development. I’ve spent time working with complex distributed robotics systems, combining hardware and software to support the research of unique robotics control algorithms. My experience includes mechanical design and fabrication, basic electronics work, web and embedded software development, and IT administration.

Whether it’s developing open source solutions to problems I'm passionate about, or just tinkering with the custom built audio head unit in my car, I’m always looking for ways to make the things around me work just a little bit better!

Ryan Weitzel - Master Engineer

Hello, I'm Ryan, a hands-on automotive enthusiast with extensive experience in everything from basic maintenance to engine swaps, suspension upgrades, and drivetrain work. While Austin backs the blue oval, GM vehicles are my cup of tea, and I always enjoy tinkering on my ’79 K20. In my professional life, I work in oil and gas with valves and wellheads where I apply my mechanical expertise to ensure systems are operate efficiently and safely in the harshest of conditions.

Noah - Master Engineer

I’m Noah, a mechanical engineer with experience in race cars, tubular chassis design, and rubber molding. I’ve worked on designing and building high-performance vehicles, including custom chassis and powertrains. I also have hands-on experience with rubber molding, which has given me a solid understanding of how pliable materials impact automotive design and durability.

Currently, I’m working in the automotive industry, applying my engineering skills to real-world projects. In my garage, I’ve got a few Ford vehicles and a Miata, which I tinker with regularly, typically focusing on cheap clunkers and new builds to keep things interesting. It’s all about experimenting, learning, and seeing what I can make out of everyday cars.

Sydney Davidson

Hi, I’m Sydney, our marketing director and user experience designer. While I work to ensure your experience with Repair Your World is the best it can possibly be, by degree I’m a political scientist and have a passion for all things politics, history, and research. By day I work with research data tools have performed public policy analysis for various public laboratories, including the PRE lab at University of Texas.

I’m always excited by politics and history, but I also love being involved in my community, exploring, and finding new ways to make an impact. When I’m not at the library, you’ll find me hiking, attending farmers markets, or working on my next project.
